To be able to appreciate the values we have, first we have to become familiar with them.

It is of particular importance in a town, a region that has drawn outstanding figures of culture and intellectual life for centuries as artists draw their muses, their enthusiastic followers, an appreciative audience.

Even though posterity always sees these values as buildings, works of art, poetic lines, legendary performances and melodies we still hum, the present also knows the beloved faces, enthusiastic locals, important meetings and experiences full of life. For this reason, our publication is more than just a list of names, occupations and addresses: it is a registry of a living community of the trademarks of our region. It shows that on the right side of the Danube and in the hills of the Pilis we have people who not only possess a rich and respectable past, a creative and fruitful present, but also a future full of hope and success.

I do believe that in the beginning of the 21st century, after the informational Big Bang, where we can share and reach almost everything through the internet, where programs offer and then sink data by the millions with every click, those enjoying the magic of the printed page and devoted to local values need this humble publication of the Gutenberg galaxy.

I do ask You, dear readers, to be curious and pick up this „collection” of contemporary artists often, because here you can find everything you should and need to know about the great people of the present, the creative artists of the Dunakanyar-Pilis region.
